Social Media Policy

As a Clinical Psychologist registered with AHPRA, I adhere to strict ethical and professional standards when engaging online. This policy outlines how I manage social media interactions and what clients can expect regarding online boundaries.

Personal Connections

To protect your privacy and uphold the integrity of the therapeutic relationship, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on personal social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram). These connections can compromise confidentiality and blur professional boundaries. If you have questions about this, I welcome you to raise them via email or during your next session.

Professional Pages

You are welcome to follow my professional social media accounts (e.g., Facebook or Instagram under the clinic name), where I share psychology insights, practice updates, and educational content. Please note:

  • I do not follow clients back.

  • There is no expectation or obligation to follow these pages.

  • You are free to engage with this content at your discretion. If any posts resonate or raise questions, feel free to bring them into session for discussion.

Communication Between Sessions

For any contact between appointments, please use email or phone. Social media platforms are not secure and are not monitored for client communication. Messages sent via these channels may not be seen promptly and could risk your confidentiality. Additionally, any communication through social media may be considered part of your clinical record and subject to documentation.

Online Forums and Groups

If you encounter me in online forums or group discussions, please refrain from interacting with me in those spaces. I will not engage with clients on personal or public forums. All therapeutic communication should occur via email, phone, or in-session.

Searching for Clients Online

Neither I nor any team member will search for current, past, or prospective clients online. This includes using search engines or social media platforms. Doing so would violate your privacy and disrupt the therapeutic boundaries we maintain.

Review Sites and Testimonials

In accordance with the Australian Psychological Society’s Code of Ethics, I do not solicit testimonials or reviews from clients. If you come across my practice listed on review sites, please know these listings are created by third parties and are not requests for feedback. While you are free to post reviews, I cannot respond to them—positive or negative—due to confidentiality obligations. If you have feedback, I encourage you to share it directly via email.

Please also note that Google Business listings include a built-in review function that cannot be disabled. This feature is not intended as a request for testimonials, and we recommend avoiding public reviews to safeguard your privacy.
